Perfect for family outings or long, lazy afternoons on The Thames, Hobbs’ classic Edwardian launches can seat up to 12 people, including a driver. Hire one of these stylish and comfortable boats and take your guests on an adventure across The Thames from Henley.

You might choose to take a delicious lunch or afternoon tea hamper from one of our suppliers, or you might stop off at a riverside restaurant. Whatever you choose, you will find Hobbs’ Edwardian launches to be as practical as they are stylish, with removable side screens to help you adapt with the weather.

Please note: You must return the boat by 17:00 ...unless during Henley Regatta and then 18:00.

  • Is there a toilet onboard?

    Unfortunately, the Edwardians do not have a toilet onboard, however there are plenty of locations you can stop at along the way. We also have toilet facilities at our main site before you depart.

  • Is there a table onboard?

    Yes all the Edwardians have a table near the rear of the boat suitable for a small lunch buffet.

  • Can I hire this boat for an hour?

    Unfortunately, these boats are only available to hire for the full day and must be booked online here.

  • Can I bring all my own food and drink onboard?

    Yes of course! We just ask you remove your rubbish at the end of the hire, bins are provided back at the boatyard.

  • Do you provide buoyancy aids with the hire and are they included in the price?

    Yes, all customers have access to buoyancy aids before their departure. A staff member will show you where to access these before you head off. Buoyancy aids are included in the price of the hire of the boat.

  • Are Edwardian class launches fully covered?

    They are indeed. The sides can be removed to let the sun pour in on the many lovely days we experience on The Thames at Henley.

  • How much is the security deposit for an Edwardian launch?

    A £250 security deposit is required before departure. This is refunded if the boat is back by 5pm, returned clean and tidy with all rubbish removed. The deposit is non-refundable if a rope is left in the water and gets caught around the propeller, or for gross negligence resulting in an accident.

  • Are Edwardian class launches available for skippered hire?

    Absolutely! You can hire an Edwardian class launch with a skipper for up to 12 guests. You are welcome to book by both the hour and the day.
